VA Privacy Service advises on matters with privacy impact. We are staffed by a team of professionals knowledgeable in the protection of Veterans’ privacy and the safeguarding of personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) used by VA programs and information systems. We provide subject-matter expertise on:
- • The Privacy Act of 1974, Section 208 of the E-Government Act of 2002, Office of Management and Budget guidance,
and VA privacy policy; - • Required privacy compliance documentation for systems and programs including privacy threshold analyses (PTAs),
privacy impact assessments (PIAs), system of record notices (SORNs) and computer matching agreements; - • Mandated privacy training for all VA employees and contractors and specialized training for Privacy Officers and
